HAPPY WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY! Hopefully you’ve been fortunate enough to have someone with Ds in your life at some point. We’ve got this one and it’s incredible every day. We love you @beebeeshue! ❤️
CONGRATS to Ben Shue! He just completed his third week as an employee with the department of food and nutrition services at Fairfax County Public schools! He’s training in the cafeteria at his old elementary school right now (Kent Gardens) and after that he’ll be a cafeteria sub throughout FCPS until a permanent position opens. We’re very proud of him, so we’re celebrating and I let him get three fish tacos. He’s earned it!
Second chemo treatment down and Zoë is handling it like a champ. We got a solid 4 mile walk in this morning and now she’s enjoying a very extended afternoon nap (except when she gets woken up for pics)❤️
I just want to thank everyone for all the love and advice that were sent when I shared Zoe’s condition on Tuesday. Today we learned that Zoë has Stage 5 lymphoma, which is actually worse than originally thought. We are going to press ahead with steroids to help her be more comfortable as well as exploratory chemo. After several treatments we’ll again meet with the oncologist and decide on a course of further action. I realize this is very personal news to be sharing, but we love her more than anything and i can’t believe it’s even happening. Here’s a pic of us taken today. Smiley as ever ❤️
